Chan’s artistic practice is primarily based in oil paints, he responds to themes such as history, social phenomenon, living status, global misery and personal experience through the process of painting. Chan exposes and brings forth the different possibilities in perceiving such topics and their various states of existence. In his words: “They (the paintings) portray the subconscious but simultaneously they are just as realistic.”
Chan King Long, Ken (b.1997, Hong Kong) obtained an Associate of Visual Arts from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2018, and a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) degree from the joint programme by RMIT University and Hong Kong Art School in 2021.
Chan has participated in multiple group shows located in Hong Kong and Guangdong. His works have been shown in institutes such as Hong Kong Arts Centre, JCCAC, and Zhongshan Museum of Art. Chan’s most recent works have been shown in the group show “Colors Come with Thoughts” hosted by The Gallery of Hong Kong Art School in the summer of 2022.
