“Shi Jindian: Paintings & Sculptures”is the second solo exhibition of renowned and highly respected contemporary Chinese artist Shi Jindian at Contemporary by Angela Li, Hong Kong. On show will be 3 sculptures made by Shi’s signature style of twisting fine stainless steel wire into historically and culturally significant objects, as well as 20 paintings created in the last 8 years first time to be seen publicly, also inspired by intensively repetitive, meditative creative processes.
Born in Sichuan, China in 1953, Shi studied at the famous Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in Chongqing. His works had been shown at the Montpellier Chinese Contemporary Art Biennale, the Chengdu Biennale, the Guangzhou Triennial, parallel exhibition of the 54th Venice Biennale and the White Rabbit Museum. His works have also been selected again for a parallel exhibition of the 55th Venice Biennale which opens in Jun 2013.
